Joining ARDA
Joining an Existing ARDA Unit
Volunteer Search and Rescue is extremely rewarding, however, it is also extremely demanding and time consuming - you must have flexibility in both your personal and professional life. Typically, volunteers in ARDA member units are expected to adhere to a rigorous training schedule and be available to respond to missions 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
If you would like information about volunteering with an existing ARDA member unit, please refer to the list of ARDA member units and contact an ARDA member unit in your area for additional information.
Starting a New ARDA Unit
Becoming an ARDA member unit requires an extensive introductory training period before final acceptance, followed by a full field evaluation to ensure the Association's rigid standards can be met. Application for ARDA unit membership is open to non-profit canine search and rescue organizations around the globe.
